Products I Use

This list will be ever growing, so revisit this page often. I will expand on the items with more detailed information, why they are important for a successful plant based lifestyle, and where you can find them.

Important Equipment

Instant Pot
I had never heard of it until I went plant-based, but I bought one because it can replace at least three appliances. It’s a pressure cooker, a rice cooker, and a slow cooker. The one I have even makes yogurt. My only regret is that I didn’t buy the 8 quart. I have the 6 quart one, which is mostly adequate, but sometimes I think I’d like to put more food in it. It’s definitely worth the expense. I use it several times a week. The biggest convenience to me is that you don’t have to sit and watch it, so you can be off doing other things whiles it’s cooking.

High Powered Blender
I have an Oster Versa, which is adequate for most things, but I hope someday to get a BlendTec or Vitamix. If you can afford it, get one. They are more powerful and can puree things like nuts to a smooth consistency, which the lower powered ones do not. I use my blender frequently as well. It’s great for salad dressings, soups, sweet potato chocolate pudding, black bean brownies, and other things that require a blender.

A good non-stick frying pan (that you won’t use for frying)
I am still working on finding the perfect one. I have heard the Scanpan brand is great. I actually have it in my Amazon Shopping cart, but it’s not cheap, so I’ll let you know if I get it.

Electric Non-Stick Griddle
I do have one that I like. It’s an inexpensive Presto brand and it works perfectly for pancakes and veggie burgers.

Parchment Paper
This is a must for making crispy items in the oven. I make corn chips, fries, onion rings, latkes, Indian pakoras, and Kentucky Fried Cauliflower, all without oil. Just bake on parchment. Food doesn’t stick and it crisps up nice and brown.

Silicone Bakeware
If you want to make muffins, brownies, breads, or even donuts, all without oil, buy some of these pans. They are flexible and everything just pops right out.

Microwavable Taco Shell Maker
It’s a little plastic saddle that you put your oil free corn tortilla on, and it turns into a crunchy taco shell in the microwave. I use it weekly. I love tacos.
