Favorite Recipe Links

I will be posting links to the recipes of other plant-based bloggers here. Check back as I will expand this list regularly. I love trying new things, and I have lots to add here already, so it will take me a while to get them all posted and linked. Much of what I cook comes from the sites I’ve listed below. These people are super bloggers, so do go check out their other recipes. Any photos I post are my own, of the food I made.

Brand New Vegan – Chuck Underwood

This guy rocks!! I love so many of his recipes. I highly recommend him, especially if you’re new to plant-based eating. He will make your transition so much easier by offering delicious comfort food recipes.

Best Damn Chili
It really is. It’s a classic flavor.
Black Bean Soup
This is a copycat of Panera Bread’s recipe. It does taste very much like it. I love to make the cornbread to go with it.
Biscuits
These use his cheese sauce instead of cutting in butter. They are delicious and flaky.
Carrot Dogs
I make these every week lately. I reuse the marinade for up to three batches. I make six at a time because that’s how many hotdog buns are in the package that I buy.
Cheese Sauce
I use this for topping enchiladas and baked potatoes, making mac n cheese, and drizzling on pizza. Mix in some jar salsa to create a delicious queso dip.
Chicken and Dumplings
Delicious! I doubled the stew part and kept the dumplings the same amount.
Cornbread
Goes great with the chili. I have never added the creamed corn.
“Ham” Salad
This is delicious as a sandwich or spread on crackers. Most omnivores who I’ve fed it to seem to like it.
Kentucky Fried Cauliflower
This is wonderful. So is the gravy he has on the same page. One thing I didn’t like was there was too much black pepper in both the cauliflower and the gravy recipes. I would cut WAY back. Just grind a little in to your taste. But wow, this is crispy crunch on the outside and tender on the inside. Great flavors (sans pepper). I highly recommend this.
Mac n Cheese
Basically cook some macaroni and put his cheese sauce on it. Creamy and delicious.
Potato Salad
This is a delicious recipe. Since there is no mayonnaise, it’s got more of a German potato salad flavor. But I added some of my homemade plain soy yogurt to it last time I made it and THAT was great! It gave it a creaminess like sour cream recipes, which I always liked best before going plant-based.
Stuffing
This has always been one of my favorite foods. If I were only allowed to eat one item on the Thanksgiving menu, it would be this. Try and find a softer textured, oil-free bread, like Silver Hills brand. I like Ezekiel bread for sandwiches, but it makes for a gritty stuffing.
Gravy
This is my favorite and soooo easy to make.

Fat Free Vegan Kitchen – Susan Voisin

She has some dynamite recipes that I make again and again!

Spinach and Mushroom Lasagna
I use a 9″x13″ pan and put all of the filling on the bottom layer. On the second layer I add mashed roasted butternut squash. I do not add any cheese.
Mushroom Seitan Roast
OMG, super easy and really really good! I will never buy store bought seitan again.
Mushroom Gravy
I love this gravy, especially blended smooth.
Shepherds Pie
I made this for Thanksgiving this year, and it was delicious.

Dreena Burton

I haven’t tried many of her recipes yet, but what I’ve made so far are delicious.
onionrings.jpg

Onion Rings
WOW! I thought I wouldn’t get to have onion rings ever again. Not true. These are baked, crispy, and flavorful. My husband loves them too.
Pumpkin Pie
I’ve made a lot of different vegan versions. This is THE BEST!

Plant-Based Gabriel

Nice Cream
So easy to make in the vitamix. It’s just bananas and flavors. So good. If you search him on YouTube there are lots of flavors.
321 Burgers
These are the best homemade veggie burgers. I use half ketchup and half mustard for the liquid, and add 1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika.
Lentil Loaf
This is really great. Makes good sandwiches too. Love it with gravy and mashed potatoes.

Eat Plant Based

Mozzarella
This is a great cheese for pizza, or to spread on bagels, or other slices of bread for a sandwich.

Monkey and Me

Marinara
This is what I like to use for pizza. It’s quick to make and tastes great.
Party Meatballs
These are delicious. Can’t. Stop. Eating. Them.

Shane and Simple

Pie Crust
You won’t get a better pie crust than this without oil or shortening. It’s kind of shortbread-like and you can even roll it out and make a lattice crust with it. It took a long time to find one this good.
HAM!!
Okay, it tastes more like ribs, but it’s super delicious.
Banana Bread
Reminds me of the one my mom used to make. I add chopped walnuts.

More recipes coming soon…
